About
FRAMEWORK
Due to the quickening evolution of technology and user capabilities, it is essential that interactive projects evolve at an equal pace. This means that when designing a new project it is never enough to simply clone an existing one. Instead, for an optimal result, we need to think about how to best implement new technology and new solutions to new problems.
THE PROJECT
ID-Review is born with the intent of analysing interactive projects and trying to understand their strengths and weaknesses. Hopefully, thanks to user comments and feedback, we will be able to discuss possible improvements and new directions for further developments.
ID-Review aims to be as independent as possible and more like a blog than a magazine – steering away from bureaucracy, controlling companies and anything else that could limit the freedom of discussions.
WHY
Like probably all of you, be it for passion or for job, we take interest in new projects on a daily basis. And every time we do, we like to analyse them. Sometimes we do so wishing that we had been involved, sometimes with the feeling that maybe we could have helped the designer think more about the eventual issues. But our individual critiques can be just as subjective. The only way to really analyse a project, is to share and debate our ideas to ensure that we consider all the relevant factors. So the aim of ID-Review is not to criticise other’s work, but to open a discussion and to ask ourselves if a different approach could have been taken.
OUR POLICY
There are many reasons why one creative choice is made instead of another, and we recognise that unfortunately it is often not the designer who has the final say. So the aim of our reviews is not to offend or criticise designers, but instead to discuss creative approaches, hopefully with the designers involved in the interactive projects that we analyse. Our first and foremost aim is to think about the choices that are available and then share these thoughts. We believe that perfection doesn’t exist in this world and that sharing and discussing ideas is always the best way to evolve.
We would like the postings to remain informal and concise. We want the site to be as accessible as possible to both authors and readers. We want people to participate in discussion and thought because they want to do so. Not because they feel they ought to.
